Short answers. Anything not here: ayeoh@loopsio.com, answered by a person.
Reading the site
How often does it update? Through the day. The masthead says when it last updated.
What is “More updates”? The list on the right of the front page: the stories that made the cut but not the columns, newest first, eight at most.
Why does a headline go to another site? Because the story is theirs. We write a pointer; the reporting is the outlet's, and the link takes you to it.
How do I see one city? The buttons under the masthead. Each one turns the front page to that city: its stories, jobs, funding and events.
The weekly email
What is in it? The week's stories, the funding rounds, the events coming up. One email, Monday morning, five minutes to read.
I signed up and nothing came. Signing up sends a confirmation link first; the email starts after you click it. Check the spam folder for the confirmation, and if it is not there, sign up again and it is sent again.
How do I stop it? The unsubscribe link at the foot of every email, one click.
Funding, jobs, companies, people
Where do the funding rounds come from? From the reporting and the public record: the company, the amount, the round and the investors named. The front page shows the latest rounds under “Who just got funding”, each linked to the report it came from.
Where do the jobs come from? Each job links to its listing, which takes you on to apply. Not every link is the company's own posting.
My company is missing. Companies appear when a funding round of theirs is reported. Investors appear when they are named in one. Send the story we missed and it is added.
Want to come off People in the news? Email us the name and it comes off.
Where do the pictures of people and the logos come from? A portrait comes from the article that named the person, and a logo from the organisation's own website. Either comes down on request.
For publishers
How do I get my outlet read? Email the address of your feed or your news page. Anything that reports Scottish technology is read; the rules for what makes the page are on the about page.
Take my pictures off. Say so and it is done: your outlet is marked as not to be copied from, and the stored copies are deleted. Your headlines still link to you unless you ask for that to stop too.
Take a story off. Send the link. It is removed from the page and from the email if it has not gone out.
Something is wrong in a summary. Send the story and what is wrong. It is corrected the same day.
Privacy
What do you keep about me? If you subscribe, your email address and when you confirmed. If you put your name on the talent list before it closed on 10 October 2026, what you typed. Otherwise nothing: no cookies of ours, no account. The privacy policy has the whole of it in a page.
