About ayeoh.io
A daily front page for Scottish technology, put together by software from the reporting of others.
What it is
ayeoh.io gathers what is going on in Scottish tech into one page a day: the news, who just raised money, who is hiring, what is on, and who was named. Every story links to the outlet that reported it. We write a headline and a short summary as a pointer to their work, and the outlet's name sits beside it. The cartoon in the rail is drawn by software from the day's stories. The site is built and run by LOOPSIO in Scotland.
Where the stories come from
From the reporting of others and the organisations' own announcements. Every story names the outlet it came from and links to it.
How stories are chosen
The same rules every day. A story must be about Scotland: a Scottish company, a Scottish office, Scottish money or Scottish policy. It must be about technology, a startup, or a company doing something technological. And its news must be from the last three days. The whole of it, with how we source, date and correct stories and what software does, is in our editorial standards.
What the labels mean
- A city above a story is where it happened, as the reporting placed it. A story with no city is nation-wide.
- “3 outlets” means three publications reported the same event; the button opens their articles.
- “Picture · Outlet” credits the publisher whose share image is shown, in a small copy.
- A date on an event is the day it happens.
What is machine and what is hand
The reading, the choosing, the ranking, the headlines and the summaries are done by software. Spot something wrong? Tell us and we'll fix it the same day.
The line in the masthead is one sentence a day about the day's page. It is written by the same software that writes the headlines, from the stories it has just chosen.
Cities
The buttons under the masthead turn the front page to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, Stirling or the Highlands, with only that place's stories, jobs, funding and events.
Jobs, companies, investors and people
On the front page, under the stories. Every job links to its listing, every company and investor to the rounds reported for it, and every person to the stories that named them.
ayeoh Pro
The news and every company and people page stay free. Alerts, lists and exports for people who work with the data are coming as ayeoh Pro; the waitlist is open.

Corrections and removals
Email ayeoh@loopsio.com. If something's wrong, tell us and we'll put it right, mark the story “Corrected”. If you're a publisher and would rather we didn't show a picture, a story or your outlet, just let us know and we'll take it down straight away. The help page has the details, and the privacy policy says what the site keeps about you.
